IT Operations Executive

Your portfolio will cover our Infrastructure Operations :

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems administration for Unix servers.

  • Proactive monitoring of systems & network.

  • Set up and replacement of hardware components/servers.

  • Administration of enterprise tape backup.

  • Regular restoration testing of backup tapes.

  • Supervision of computer operators or vendors for selected tasks.

Requirements

  • Possess a Diploma in IT or a related Engineering discipline.

  • Familiar with Unix environment and Perl scripting.

  • Knowledge in the following areas would be advantageous;- Weblogic
    administration, Oracle administration and Apache web server administration.

  • Prepared to perform shift work.

Fresh diploma holders are welcome to apply for this position.


Management Associates

The Management Associate (MA) Programme is designed to groom young talent to take on leadership roles in PSA. Selected candidates will be put onto an accelerated development programme combining job rotations, stretch assignments, leadership training, mentoring by senior managers and international exposure. All these are aimed at developing MAs into well-rounded managers with the business knowledge and general management skills to lead in our business.

MAs will begin their career going through a one-month structured rotation programme to give them a comprehensive overview of the PSA business. This also provides them a valuable opportunity to network with their fellow colleagues and senior leaders from various functions.

Requirements

  • At least a 2nd Class Upper Honours in any discipline.

  • Up to 3 years' work experience is an added advantage.

  • Good track record and leadership experience.

  • Operations, logistics, commercial/marketing or finance background preferred.

  • Strong drive for results, good interpersonal skills and sharp business acumen.

  • A desire to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and build a career with a leading Global Terminal Operator.


Operations Executives

Working in the nerve centre at our container terminals, you will plan and direct container-handling operations using a suite of computerized resource planning and operating systems to ensure that PSA delivers seamless service to our customers round the clock. You will be responsible for the quick turnaround of vessels and ensure prompt connectivity of customers' cargo. You will hone your leadership and people management skills and gain valuable knowledge of various aspects of terminal operations through job rotations.

Requirements

  • Degree in any discipline, with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical, decisive, disciplined and results-oriented.

  • Willing to perform shift duties.


Systems Analysts

In a team of IT professionals, you will provide IT solutions that support our business operations, customers and corporate services. You will design, develop and maintain software applications using Object-Oriented Technology and JAVA.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, with at least 1 year’s working experience in software development in J2EE, Oracle, Weblogic or OOAD.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.


Systems Engineers

A) Systems Administration

You will be responsible for the availability and reliability of the systems in PSA. Working closely with the application and other infrastructure teams, you will also plan for system upgrades, systems and application troubleshooting and performance monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science with at least 1 year’s relevant working experience.

  • Experience in UNIX (SUN Solaris) administration and scripting.

  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking concepts.

  • Those with experience in Veritas suite of products and SAN technology will have an added advantage.


B) Systems Engineers (Network Administration)

You will manage the mission critical network infrastructure comprising switches, routers, firewalls and wireless components and perform network performance monitoring and capacity planning. In this role, you will also proactively monitor, pre-empt, diagnose and promptly rectify network related problems, maintain up to date documentation of the network infrastructure and evaluate network tools and products.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.

  • At least 2 years’ working experience as a Network Administrator.

  • Familiar with Cisco hardware, TCP/IP, VPN & IT security.

  • Knowledge of Unix, Solaris, Win2K and Web server security.

  • Those with working knowledge of UNIX, Breezecom, Marconi or Checkpoint will have an added advantage.


Technical Officer (Civil)

Job Description

Assist the engineer in infrastructure maintenance management and project supervision of offices, buildings and infrastructures. Specifically:

  • Plan, prepare, monitor and update infrastructure maintenance programme and projects schedule.

  • Plan, prepare, monitor and update annual budget and expenditure for infrastructure maintenance works.

  • Conduct inspections and carry out project supervisions.

  • Prepare drawings/sketches and draft contract specification for calling of quotation/tender for maintenance works.

  • Co-ordinate with user and other supporting departments.

Requirements

  • Diploma in civil engineering / building discipline.

  • Relevant experience in civil engineering / building works / infrastructure maintenance.

  • Registered Clerk of Work (COW) preferred.


Assistant Service Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Description

  • Assist the engineer in leading a team of technical specialists to provide building M&E facility maintenance. The M&E facilities include air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems, fire protection systems, sewerage and potable water pumping systems, building automation systems, generators, UPS, port lighting Installations and electrical low tension voltage installations.

  • Provide technical consultancy services on M&E systems.

  • Perform project management and site supervision of M&E projects.

  • Prepare tender specifications, call and evaluate tenders for award.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in building M&E services.

  • Experience in maintenance methodology.

  • Strong technical problem solving skills.

  • Independent and self-motivated.


Assistant Service Engineer (Electrical)

Job Description

  • Assist the engineer in leading a team of technical specialists to carry out maintenance of High-Tension Electrical Installations of up to 22KV.

  • Provide technical consultancy services on electrical systems design and installations.

  • Perform project management and site supervision of Electrical HV and LV Installations.

  • Perform electricity metering.

  • Prepare tender specifications, call and evaluate tenders for award.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

  • Possess EMA Licensed Electrical Worker, Technician Grade.

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in high-voltage electrical installations.

  • Experience in maintenance methodology for electrical installations.

  • Strong technical problem solving skills.

  • Independent and self-motivated.
